Job Description

Hybrid role in Richmond, VA supporting a high-impact database migration and data platform modernization. You will help move on-premises SQL Server databases into cloud environments using AWS and Snowflake, while building Python-based processing and AWS data pipelines that support application data running on Amazon RDS and DynamoDB.

Career Land Center, LLC needs a hands-on Database Administrator / Data Engineer with experience migrating enterprise databases and implementing reliable pipeline workflows. This position is planned through July 31, 2026, with a possibility of extension, and is set up as a hybrid schedule requiring 2–3 days onsite each week (with additional days when requested).

Responsibilities

  • Support database migration from on-prem SQL Server to cloud targets including AWS and Snowflake
  • Perform Python-based data processing and support data loads
  • Develop AWS data pipelines for applications that use Amazon RDS and DynamoDB

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Database Administration, Data Engineering, or a similar role
  • Experience migrating on-prem SQL Server databases to AWS and Snowflake
  • Experience using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) or similar migration tools
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database technologies including Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
  • Experience writing Python scripts for data processing and data loads
  • Experience building AWS data pipelines using S3, Glue, and Lambda
  • Experience with data modeling and support for application data environments
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and DynamoDB
  • Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control tools

Location and Availability

  • Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
  • Hybrid requirement: 2–3 days onsite each week, plus additional days if requested
  • Candidates must currently reside in the United States
  • Local candidates near Richmond, VA are preferred due to onsite needs
  • Parking is not provided for contractors
