Job Description

Southwest Airlines is hiring a Facilities Data Analyst to support the Corporate Facilities Team in Dallas, TX onsite. In this role, you will use reporting, analytics, and data-driven insights to help shape facilities planning, operations, and performance across the network.

Pay & benefits

  • Salary: USD 81,200 - 90,200 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large datasets to identify key business drivers, translate findings into actionable insights, and communicate implications to the business.
  • Deliver reports and analysis for facilities and equipment across the network; analyze performance and provide recommendations for Facilities Leadership.
  • Support efforts to improve productivity and accuracy of reporting.
  • Contribute to development of new processes, tools, and reports for Corporate Facilities.
  • Maintain the Corporate Facilities technical toolset, including defining content management structures, workflows, templates, and site access permissions.
  • Partner with other Company data teams to support department-driven metrics through data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Provide training to internal customers on reporting organizations and methodologies.
  • Support Facilities Planning projects by collaborating with Business Consultants.
  • Perform other job duties as directed by Employees’ Leaders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of data analysis and data visualization tools to create reports and manipulate data from various sources.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel experience (pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.), MS Access (DB queries, etc.), and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Skilled in logic and reasoning to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches.
  • Ability to explore improvements to existing data solutions while balancing assigned work and ad-hoc requests.
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and visual) to share information with others.
  • Ability to acquire data using both SQL and transformation tools such as Alteryx.
  • Ability to identify and analyze trends in large sets of data.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Ability to initiate tasks, respond to inquiries, and develop creative solutions with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to comply with Company attendance standards.

Experience

  • Intermediate level experience with broad knowledge in Corporate Facilities, Planning, or similar analytical field.
  • Designing and generating reports and dashboards.
  • Analytical modeling and visualization tools such as R, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, and Teradata.

  • Work model: onsite at Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours.
  • Air travel: required with occasional overnight stays.

Minimum education

High School Diploma or GED
