Forward Deployed AI Engineer
Job Description
The Forward Deployed AI Engineer role supports end-to-end development of AI and analytics solutions using Python and TypeScript across Nebraska Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy data-driven solutions using Python and TypeScript within Palantir Foundry to address real-world challenges across Nebraska Medicine.
- Develop and manage data workflows for analytics applications.
- Analyze complex datasets to support clinical and operational outcomes.
- Integrate AI and analytics into applications that create measurable value for patients, clinicians, and healthcare operations.
- Take analytics use cases from concept through deployment, delivering end-to-end development for analytics applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand problems, translate ideas into practical implementations, and continuously improve deployed solutions.
Requirements
- Must live in Nebraska or Iowa.
- Hybrid role; must be able to work on campus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field required.
- 2–3 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or analytics roles required.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and TypeScript for building analytics applications and managing large datasets required.
- Proven ability to translate broad business concepts into effective and scalable data solutions required.
- Experience developing data models and performing data analysis required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver impactful results in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards required.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with designing scalable and efficient analytics frameworks preferred.
- Hands-on experience with analytics platforms and tools, including performance optimization and data visualization tools preferred.
- AI and LLM aptitude, including foundational understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning, and NLP, with willingness to apply and deepen knowledge preferred.
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to address strategic challenges preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and data science platforms such as Palantir, Dataiku, DataRobot, or similar preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar preferred.
- Palantir AI platform certification (or ability to obtain within the first year) preferred.
- Preferred consideration for familiarity with Palantir Foundry, Dataiku, DataRobot, Databricks, cloud platforms, or similar AI/analytics platforms.
