GFR 161 Data Analyst (Part-Time, Non-Benefited) 1 Position

This part-time, non-benefited Data Analyst role supports Worcester State University’s Latino Education Institute on site in Worcester, MA. The position focuses on gathering and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, utilizing QuickBase, and producing reports to inform program decisions and funding considerations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the data collection system in alignment with the Program Navigation Guide and LEI data collection tools.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Program Managers to gather and securely store quantitative and qualitative data using evaluation instruments such as pre and post surveys, questionnaires, interviews, observations, and related methods.
• Analyze collected data with QuickBase to produce results, identify trends, and derive insights.
• Coordinate with the QuickBase software representative for training and troubleshooting as needed.
• Generate program reports that summarize demographics, outputs and outcomes, and trends, including the handling of large datasets and effective visual representations (charts, graphics, tables).
• Assist Program Managers in evaluating program results and impact in relation to goals, objectives, and logic models.
• Manage historical student data files to monitor performance trends.
• Provide staff training and support on data collection, QuickBase input, analysis, and reporting.
• Design and implement new data collection tools such as surveys or questionnaires for events or programs aligned with their goals.
• Conduct online research to gather reliable data on demographics and Latinx-related social and health trends at local, state, or national levels.
• Attend late afternoon and Saturday or summer programs as needed to collect data, with occasional evening events.
• Perform other duties as assigned in the Data Analyst role.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a social science research field or in statistics and computer science with a strong research component.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with diverse populations in data collection, storage, and analysis.
• Willingness and ability to work with data collection software, especially QuickBase, and to manage large datasets using QuickBase for collection, storage, and analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Excel; SPSS experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Effective collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups, including administrators, program managers, educators, and parents.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment and the capacity to operate in interdisciplinary, cross-functional, and multicultural settings.

General Statement of Duties

Under the leadership of the Executive Director and with support from Program Managers, the Data Analyst will collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to the Latino Education Institute's programs using methods such as pre/post surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The resulting data will support reports to funders and the community, as well as Worcester State University, and will inform program revisions and enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social science research field.
• Valid driver’s license or state ID and access to transportation for outreach activities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
