Job Description

Motive is hiring a GTM AI Engineer on the AI Operations team to build and own internal AI tools, agents, automations, and full stack applications used by the GTM organization. This role covers the journey from early prototypes to production scaling, beta testing with end users, ongoing maintenance, and documentation and training.

What you’ll get to build

You will develop internal AI solutions that help the GTM organization move faster and work more effectively. The work includes complex agent and workflow development, integrating key data sources into applications, and ensuring everything is usable for a broader business audience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full stack development lifecycle: prototyping and proof of concepts, scaling prototypes for production use, beta testing with end users, and maintaining internal AI tools over time
  • Build complex agents using Glean and N8N, and leverage AI-enhanced IDE tooling such as Cursor to develop agents, workflows, and full stack applications
  • Run internal tools head-to-head with external vendors to assess solution efficacy
  • Collaborate with internal product managers and Enterprise Systems to integrate key data sources securely into applications and agents while aligning with Motive’s data governance structure
  • Apply UX best practices so agents and applications meet users where they work and are easy for less technical business users to leverage
  • Develop a clear point of view on when an agentic workflow is warranted versus a business logic focused approach
  • Determine which internal development tools are best suited for specific use cases
  • Manage a provided cost envelope for production use cases, including testing different LLM models to balance performance with token consumption costs
  • Create and maintain documentation for launched solutions, and train end users on how to use them
  • Stay current with advancements in LLMs and agentic orchestration

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of AI fundamentals: context windows, token consumption, compute costs, chunking, and performance benchmarks
  • Knowledge of API usage, scripting, SQL/SOQL, and Python fundamentals
  • Experience with prompt engineering for complex tasks
  • Ability to leverage foundational models (such as Gemini, GPT, Claude) through both web interfaces and APIs
  • Familiarity with the evolving agentic ecosystem, including orchestration layers and MCP
  • An experimentation mindset, including rapid prototyping and learning from failures

Tools you’ll use

  • Glean, N8N, Cursor, Google Cloud
  • Gemini, GPT, Claude, MCP
  • SQL, SOQL, Python

Benefits

  • Health, pharmacy, optical, and dental care benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Sick time off
  • Short term and long term disability coverage
  • Life insurance
  • 401k contribution

Pay transparency

Location: Remote (remote). United States

Salary range: $112,000 - $140,000 USD per year
