Partner 16, Data Engineer - Global Partnerships
Job Description
Own and advance global partnerships data infrastructure and automation in Menlo Park, CA.
Responsibilities
- Lead ownership of critical systems, including Global Partnerships core datasets and data pipelines
- Serve as a technical and strategic thought partner on data practices, automation, and scalable process design across Global Partnerships and adjacent teams
- Design and maintain scalable data infrastructure and reliable pipelines connecting Global Partnerships systems
- Reduce manual work and error rates through improved pipelines and process design
- Maintain high standards of data precision by monitoring and rectifying discrepancies across different platforms
- Evaluate and implement tools and integrations to improve visibility, connectivity, and decision-making
- Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools and agentic workflows that remove manual work, then drive adoption through training, documentation, and change management
- Lead automation, process development, and operational scale to improve accuracy, reliability, and speed
- Act as the team’s AI thought partner by staying current on emerging tools and translating them into concrete, high-leverage improvements to LP-facing and internal processes
- Build visualizations and quantitative analyses for fund and investment performance, including projected exit scenarios and liquidity or follow-on decisions
- Develop fluency with the firm’s portfolio company information database and manipulate/analyze data from the system to draw insights
- Refine and calibrate portfolio performance analyses to keep insights current and relevant
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience; data analytics or data engineering experience is preferable
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a technical field preferred (not required)
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking for written prose and charts, tables, and spreadsheets
- Ability to stay on top of changing data or facts across multiple documents
- Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining data workflows, automations, or integrations using Python, Javascript, or a comparable programming language
- Proven ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional projects with autonomy and stakeholder influence across technical and business teams
- Experience owning or administering complex data pipelines or another critical business system with focus on data completeness, governance, and integration

Compensation and location
- Location: Menlo Park, CA (onsite); open to candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Salary: USD 269,000 - 314,000 per year
- Actual starting pay may vary based on experience, skills, and scope
