Pricing Data Analyst

Southern Company is hiring a Pricing Data Analyst in Atlanta, GA to help shape data-driven pricing products and rate strategies. In this onsite role, you will turn large datasets into actionable reporting and visualizations, support regulatory and external information requests, and work closely with internal teams to advance pricing design principles. The role also emphasizes efficiency improvements through new data sources and tools, supporting customer value while delivering analytical rigor.

What you’ll do

• Support execution of pricing and rates-focused data analysis and visualization
• Assist with design and execution of experimental (where feasible) and quasi-experimental research to study cause-and-effect relationships between pricing and customer behavior
• Provide data to external requestors, including the PSC, third-party consultants, and customers
• Interface with internal customer data and analytics teams, advance pricing design principles, and represent pricing and rates interests
• Leverage new data and tools to automate processes, improve efficiency, and deliver customer value

What you’ll bring

• 4-year degree (required) in technical, analytical, business, engineering, economics, statistics, computer science, information systems, or a related field
• Experience working with traditional databases and/or data lakes, plus proficiency in at least one query/programming language such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R
• Experience working with large datasets, data visualization tools, and analytical reporting
• Utility, regulated industry, or energy market experience preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to analyze customer behavior, usage patterns, and pricing impacts to find insights, risks, and opportunities
• Ability to communicate data and findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Understanding of data analysis techniques, statistical concepts, and trend analysis
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and collaborate across teams and stakeholders
• Exposure to cloud-based analytics tools, databases, or modern data platforms is a plus
