Job Description

The Regulatory Data Analyst role at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York focuses on improving data quality and supporting data collection and analysis for Treasury International Capital (TIC) reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support data quality excellence by analyzing non-complex and moderately complex financial datasets and using visualizations to spot anomalies and trends
  • Develop targeted inquiries to resolve data integrity issues in data series and institutional submissions
  • Manage data collection operations by ensuring timely receipt of submissions and monitoring collection schedules
  • Resolve technical submission issues with reporting institutions
  • Maintain operational controls to support consistent, reliable data flows
  • Partner with financial institutions through ongoing dialogue to enhance data quality and address reporting issues
  • Provide guidance on technical reporting requirements and submission processes
  • Deliver actionable insights by analyzing data sources and institutional relationships across varying sizes and complexity to support policy and operational improvements
  • Participate in automation initiatives and emerging technology solutions to modernize the technology platform, improve operational efficiency, and scale analytical capabilities
  • Research and resolve reporting inquiries and technical issues by proposing conclusions aligned with regulatory guidance
  • Respond to stakeholder requests related to data collection operations and institutional reporting practices
  • Contribute to cross-functional Function and System workgroups and share insights to advance data collection and analysis capabilities

Requirements

  • Understanding or interest in financial markets and products, regulatory reporting, or analytical work involving large and complex datasets
  • Understanding of U.S. and global capital and money market structure and products (examples include Treasuries, Equities, Private Equity, Repo, Agency MBS, etc.)
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with an eagerness to learn and grow
  • Ability to provide efficient and accurate verbal and written analysis
  • Proficient skills using the MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with or interest in Python, SQL, R, or similar programming languages
  • Curiosity about analytical innovation and willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools
