Research Data Analyst

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support complex qualitative and quantitative research efforts tied to health policy, public health, or related disciplines. This role focuses on intermediate-level research work, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis, data management, and helping prepare project deliverables for proposals and ongoing projects.

Based in Nashville, TN, this position is onsite and is designed for candidates with at least 2 years of relevant work experience and a Master’s degree. You will collaborate across internal and external teams while using advanced statistical and programming skills to manage large datasets and support reporting activities.

What you’ll do

• Apply quantitative research methods to contribute to the design, coordination, and execution of research projects.
• Promote collaboration among team members, including partners internal and external to the department.
• Use advanced statistical and data programming skills to manage and analyze data and summarize and interpret complex results (e.g., with SAS, Stata, R).
• Manage large and/or complex datasets to support analysis and reporting needs.
• Prepare materials and draft technical sections for presentations and written documents.

What you’ll bring

• Intermediate-level research skills covering quantitative research activities such as data management, quantitative data analysis, report preparation, and management of project budgets and schedules for proposals and projects.
• Expertise in data modeling and an understanding of relationships between data items.
• Ability to identify, validate, extract, and format data for statistical analysis, including creating, modifying, and running queries and producing reports.
• Experience seeking, collecting, transforming, and ensuring the quality of data.
• Strong presentation skills, with the ability to prepare effective presentations and speak competently to the audience.
• Relevant work experience.
