Job Description

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer based in Atlanta, GA (onsite). In this role, you will partner across business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver reporting, analytics, and decision-support solutions, helping drive scalable self-service analytics through strong analytics domain leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Lead analytics delivery (25%): Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define business metrics, analyze data, and enable effective use of analytics for decision-making.
  • Build reusable analytics foundations (25%): Design, develop, and maintain analytical data models, reporting datasets, semantic structures, and reusable analytics assets to support consistent, accurate, and scalable self-service analytics.
  • Own the data and analytics domain (25%): Assess impacts, define requirements, guide solution design, and ensure successful delivery across reporting, analytics, and data outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership (20%): Mentor team members and contractors, coordinate day-to-day work, prioritize business demand, allocate resources, conduct solution reviews, and help establish development standards and best practices.
  • Support compliance activities (5%): Promote adherence to A22 - Global Data & Information Policy, maintain required documentation, and provide complete, accurate, and timely information for audits, risk reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements.

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years of overall work experience
  • U.S. work authorization required at the time of application
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (recommended majors include Accounting and Business Administration)
  • Preferred experience areas: Business-General (5 years), Finance (2 years), Information Technology (1 year)
  • Minimum knowledge (5+ years) in business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and data visualization concepts
  • Minimum knowledge (5+ years) in data warehousing, dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and enterprise data management practices
  • Minimum knowledge (5+ years) in business processes and data domains such as Finance, Credit, Collections, Client Services, Risk, or similar operational functions
  • Minimum knowledge (5+ years) in modern analytics platforms, cloud-based data environments, and self-service analytics concepts
  • Experience collecting data, establishing facts, and identifying trends and variance
  • Analytical and facilitation skills
  • Programming and data skills including testing, database, and application development
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Skills in presentation, problem solving, and project management (project leader and team member)
  • 5+ years translating business requirements into reporting and data solutions; writing and optimizing complex SQL queries; data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
  • 3+ years designing and supporting analytical data models, semantic models, reporting datasets, and reusable analytics assets
  • 3+ years with enterprise analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau (Microsoft Fabric and Azure analytics services preferred)
  • 2+ years using Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis, automation, data profiling, or advanced analytics
  • 3+ years presenting findings and communicating effectively with business and technical stakeholders
  • 3+ years leading analytics initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and mentoring team members
  • Additional preferred certificates (equivalents may be substituted): Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
