Job Description

Senior Data Engineer on the Adobe Firefly data team is responsible for designing scalable data pipelines and the data foundation, collaborating with analytics, NLP, and product teams to enable AI powered insights.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and own scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows from multiple sources into a central data warehouse, with end-to-end accountability for data mapping, business logic, quality, and lineage
  • Create and maintain infrastructure for timely clustering, translation pipelines, and NLP analysis to support modeling, data science, and analytics teams
  • Develop robust reporting pipelines for product and business-critical systems, including generative credit usage data, feedback systems, RLHF research data, and partner reporting
  • Build foundational datasets and systems that enable AI powered self-serve analytics
  • Establish and promote coding standards, architecture patterns, and engineering guidelines across the team
  • Construct data infrastructure that supports AI powered insights and reduces dependency on ad hoc requests
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to anticipate evolving data needs and shape the technical roadmap

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in an analytical field such as statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, physics, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with a track record of owning complex, production-grade data systems
  • Strong SQL and Python skills; hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark SQL, dbt, Airflow, and cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Proven ability to craft scalable data architectures, including making trade-off decisions and owning outcomes
  • Solid focus on data quality, building reliability and observability by default
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into well-scoped, independently implemented data solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical architecture decisions to non-technical partners

Expected Pay Range

The U.S. pay range for this position is $133,100 to $236,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by location and may depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range is $163,200 to $236,400.
