Job Description

Senior Data Engineer role on the Anthro Data Team to build and scale the data backbone across pipelines, modeling, AWS infrastructure, monitoring, and data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build production-grade ELT pipelines for lab and manufacturing data
  • Architect secure, reliable data movement between on-prem systems and AWS
  • Develop well-structured, high-performing warehouse data models for analytics and ML
  • Write, test, and optimize complex SQL powering production dashboards and workflows
  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code
  • Implement monitoring, data quality checks, and system observability
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to convert real-world workflows into dependable data systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or a scientific discipline
  • 2-4+ years of data engineering experience
  • Strong Python skills for clean, modular, well-tested, production-ready code
  • Advanced SQL, including schema design, reading query plans, and performance tuning at scale
  • Experience with data modeling and query optimization in a cloud data warehouse
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure plus infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: Git/version control, testing, and CI/CD
  • Ability to operate independently and own end-to-end data systems

Experience: 2 years minimum

Compensation: USD 116,000 - 145,000 per year
