Job Description

Lovevery is seeking a Senior Data Engineer, Analytics based in Boise, Idaho, with remote options, to contribute as an individual contributor focusing on analytics engineering, data platform leadership, and enabling data driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver results at scale by building high impact pipelines, visualizations, dashboards, and data products that accelerate delivery and empower informed business decisions. Leverage your DBT expertise to implement meaningful changes in the data transformation layer with confidence.
  • Lead with expertise as a senior technical authority in data and analytics engineering, guiding architecture discussions and implementing robust, scalable data models.
  • Prioritize for performance by balancing feature delivery with simple, efficient designs; ensure pipelines are cost effective and performant.
  • Build and maintain layered data by collaborating with teammates to extend a modern data warehouse and define strategic architecture to unlock insights.
  • Collaborate across functions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Empower business users by partnering with power users to enable data fluency and develop self-serve reporting tools that unlock value.
  • Champion AI and automation by promoting AI assisted coding, documentation, and data exploration techniques to streamline development and enhance self-serve capabilities.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years implementing and scaling DBT within a team in a growth environment.
  • Over 5+ years of production data modeling using cloud based data warehousing techniques on platforms such as Databricks Delta, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery, designing intuitive, business friendly data models that support self-service exploration and operational reporting.
  • Strong understanding of advanced SQL concepts and the performance implications behind queries.
  • Familiarity with Spark or similar distributed data processing technologies.
  • Track record of building data pipelines with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI) featuring well tested workflows, proactive alerting, and strong data quality standards.
  • Experience integrating AI and automation tools (for example GitHub Copilot, Natural Language Query tools) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
  • Proficiency with data visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar; strong preference for Omni, with experience in building dashboards and enabling self-service for business users.
  • Self service capabilities in Git and related workflows.
  • Python experience is a plus.
  • Experience with DAG tools such as Prefect, Dagster, or Airflow is a bonus.
  • Experience with subscriptions and/or Ecommerce is a bonus.

You will join a team focused on refining our transformation and visualization layers and will lead efforts on the data platform from day one, helping to set the direction for how data empowers decision makers.
