Job Description

A Senior Data Scientist is being sought to support a government analytics program in Springfield, Virginia. The role centers on advanced analytics, process modernization, and operational decision support, combining hands-on technical leadership with the ability to architect analytics that move into production and inform real-world operations.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver end-to-end data science solutions that handle large, complex datasets and translate findings into actionable guidance
  • Build reusable Python workflows for analytics, automation, and data pipelines to ensure maintainable production processes
  • Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies across structured and unstructured data to support timely operational decisions
  • Design clear visualizations and dashboards that integrate smoothly into daily workflows
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert, mentoring colleagues while remaining actively hands-on
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to convert operational needs into concrete technical requirements and delivered solutions
  • Research, prototype, and deploy advanced methodologies including AI/ML, network analytics, and statistical modeling
  • Contribute to analytics products aligned with NGA and DNI standards, including ABI-driven workflows

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required post onboarding
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education, military service, training, and professional experience
  • Proven experience supporting Intelligence Community or national security missions
  • Experience building analytics pipelines
  • Automation and data ingestion experience, including APIs
  • Production-ready workflows
  • Proficiency with Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, or Bokeh
  • Experience with Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar visualization tools
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
  • Ability to work independently, provide technical leadership, and deliver solutions with minimal oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PAY

$140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
