Senior Data Scientist

Senior Data Scientist in Mountain View, CA (onsite) at ServiceNow, USD 161,300 - 274,200 yearly, focused on defining and governing product metrics, applying advanced statistics and ML to drive core metrics, and building scalable, AI-native analytical systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with executives, product leaders and engineering teams to define and govern Moveworks’ critical product metrics, ensuring consistency, accuracy and cross‑company alignment.
• Leverage advanced statistics and machine learning to identify the key levers behind core metrics, forecast outcomes, and quantify the impact of product initiatives on business results.
• Evaluate core engineering system performance, separating signal from noise while accounting for confounding factors such as usage patterns, resource availability and skill activation.
• Design, build, and own best practices, tooling and processes for scalable, robust analytics systems that automate recurring analyses and provide self‑serve insights to cross‑functional partners.
• Advance DS workflows and AI‑native integrations (for example Superset MCP, Claude integrations) to broaden self‑serve data access and shorten time to insight for stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior data scientists and contribute to hiring and team development, codifying guidelines for data modeling, pipeline design and evaluation methodology.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related quantitative field, plus 5+ years of experience building and deploying production analytics or ML solutions for enterprise software products.
• Proven expertise in evaluating LLMs, including dataset curation, benchmarking and regression detection for AI/LLM systems.
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines using distributed systems (PySpark/Spark SQL), orchestration (Airflow) and cloud platforms (AWS EMR, S3, Snowflake or equivalent).
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with a track record of translating complex analyses into measurable business outcomes and operational KPIs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and drive cross‑functional alignment.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to data scientists or engineers.
• Experience building evaluation pipelines or harnesses for agentic or LLM‑powered systems.
• Background in conversational analytics, natural language processing or AI‑assisted data exploration tooling.
• Prior work on self‑serve analytics platforms or customer‑facing data products at enterprise scale.
• Experience using modern AI productivity tooling (for example Claude, Cursor, Codex) within an enterprise SDLC.
