This onsite role in Vienna, VA places you at the heart of enterprise visualization and augmented analytics initiatives.
The Senior Data Visualization and Augmented Analytics Engineer role supports the Analytics Center for Enablement (C4E) by defining and advancing enterprise visualization and augmented analytics capabilities. You will help establish standards, enable self-service analytics, champion Mobile BI, and integrate augmented analytics to improve decision making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced data visualizations and interactive dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, applying user experience principles to support data driven decision making.
- Lead the adoption and integration of Augmented Analytics, including AI/ML driven insights, natural language query NLQ, and natural language generation like “Talk to your Data” within enterprise BI platforms.
- Lead and evolve self service analytics (BIaaS) enablement frameworks, delivering training, guidance, and reusable assets to boost data literacy across the organization.
- Drive enterprise adoption through Analytics User Communities (Power BI, Tableau User Groups, etc.), gathering feedback to continuously improve analytics capabilities and user experience.
- Own and manage the Analytics Service Catalog, fulfilling user requests through standardized, governed, and scalable solutions aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Lead modernization efforts by migrating legacy BI assets to enterprise platforms (Power BI, Tableau), enhancing performance, scalability, and alignment with the data strategy.
- Establish and maintain governance for visualization assets, including certification, reuse, lifecycle management, and adherence to data standards.
- Maximize BI value by driving user engagement and platform reliability—monitor usage and performance, manage access and licensing, and provide proactive support to maintain solution integrity.
- Identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and innovation across analytics platforms, user experience, and data consumption patterns.
- Establish and enforce data visualization standards and best practices to ensure consistent, high quality, user centric analytics experiences across platforms.
- Provide subject matter expertise in BI and analytics, guiding Agile project teams with technical leadership to deliver successful solutions.
- Mentor team members and others through job rotation or skill up programs, promoting best practices in data visualization, storytelling, and analytics design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience with UI/UX design principles to develop immersive, interactive, and intuitive visualizations.
- Experience in leading Analytics User Communities, presenting to diverse audiences, and collaborating at multiple levels to drive Analytics C4E success.
- Significant experience delivering data analytics solutions that accelerate business decisions.
- Proven expertise using enterprise BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Experience with Augmented Analytics capabilities including integration and rollout of Power BI and related tools.
- Knowledge of Copilot/Fabric IQ, Tableau Pulse/Agent/Next, Databricks Genie or similar.
- Experience working with SQL and Python for big data analytics.
- Experience documenting BI standards, training end users, and communicating with analytics user communities.
- Experience working with Agile teams to productionize capabilities at scale, ensuring high availability and performance in enterprise cloud ecosystems.
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Change management experience and ability to evangelize adoption of analytics capabilities in the cloud.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive presence.
