Senior Data Scientist

Aptean is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Strategic Operations team in Alpharetta, GA onsite. In this role, you will apply data science and machine learning to support business transformation and logistics and transportation initiatives, including predictive analytics for churn and improvements to real-time route planning.

Working with large datasets and decision-focused modeling, you will turn business questions into data-driven solutions and deliver insights that help teams act. This position emphasizes exploratory and statistical analysis, experimentation, and scalable deployment of models, tools, and dashboards.

What you’ll do

• Develop and optimize machine learning models for real-time route planning and logistics
• Build a churn model and additional predictive models to support business decision-making
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and A/B testing
• Clean, preprocess, and validate large datasets coming from multiple sources
• Present findings and support scalable model deployment, including tools and dashboards

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist with relevant data science or machine learning work
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of programming experience with Spark, Python, R, or Scala
• Strong understanding of statistics, data modeling, and machine learning algorithms
• Experience working with large datasets, visualization tools, and MLOps practices
