Senior Health Data Analyst - Compass
Job Description
Join Veeva Systems as a Senior Health Data Analyst supporting the Compass platform. The role focuses on analyzing health data, governing the Terminology Reference Library, and building data quality metrics to enable de-identified patient analytics across prescription and medical claims. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Drive TRL governance by maintaining and expanding the Terminology Reference Library, overseeing core reference datasets across prescription and medical claims, including drug information, ICD-10 codes, procedure and lab codes, and payer or plan data.
- Evaluate and integrate new data sources through targeted queries, field mapping, and structural analysis to determine fit and align them with existing core schemas.
- Execute quality and cleansing workflows by performing exploratory data analysis to identify discrepancies, address missing values, deduplicate records, and ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Contribute to continuous product improvement by investigating data anomalies within the Veeva Compass product suite and testing planned and unplanned data changes for downstream impact.
- Build metrics and documentation by developing interactive dashboards to monitor data quality, contributing to technical documentation, validation reports, and process improvements.
- Collaborate cross functionally with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Developers to articulate data quality nuances, uncover root causes, and help construct robust data pipelines.
Requirements
- A minimum of four years of experience analyzing record level prescription and medical claims datasets.
- Four or more years of experience in health data quality analysis, data profiling, and data governance principles.
- Advanced SQL proficiency with extensive experience querying, manipulating, and aggregating large scale relational databases.
- Deep working knowledge of healthcare code sets and industry standards, including NDC, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC, and payer/plan reference data.
- Proven track record in data storytelling, with experience analyzing, visualizing, and presenting data quality findings to stakeholders using Excel, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma), or interactive dashboards.
- Strong problem solving mindset with an eagerness to dive into complex, unstructured healthcare data issues, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, quantitative, or healthcare informatics field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation
- Base pay: USD 80,000 - 125,000 per year
- The salary range provided complies with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role
- Actual salaries may vary within the range based on experience and location
- This position may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable bonuses and stock-based awards
