Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This senior Machine Learning Engineer role sits on Indeed's Sourcing team, focusing on developing and deploying production ML and AI solutions to enhance automated outreach and the Sourcing product, with emphasis on scalable LLM operations and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ML and AI initiatives, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, training, building LLM based judgment capabilities, and developing recommendation and ranking features.
• Improve LLM and ML models, scale them in production, and conduct iterative A/B testing to optimize the Sourcing product.
• Assess the potential business impact of AI initiatives and balance delivery speed with necessary infrastructure investments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, Product, and UX research/design.
• Define evaluation, observability, and production monitoring strategies for ML and LLM based systems.
• Serve as a trusted partner across teams, translating technical concepts to facilitate productive collaboration.
• Mentor other ML engineers, data scientists, and software engineers on the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics with a minimum of five years of related experience; or Master’s with at least three years; or PhD without required experience.
• Proven track record deploying impactful ML or LLM based solutions to large-scale production systems.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability as a key contributor in technical and product domains.
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks, LLM observability tools, and prompt optimization techniques such as GEPA.
• Experience with deep learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and modern ML/LLM tooling.
• Understanding of modern ML system design, including evaluation, experimentation, and production monitoring for predictive and LLM-based systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective with technical and business audiences.
