Job Description

Join KPMG's Federal Advisory practice in Washington, DC onsite, where you will design and optimize data pipelines, drive analytics, and deliver scalable data solutions for federal engagements. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to translate data into actionable insights throughout the project lifecycle, from ideation to delivery. This role emphasizes data quality, reliable operations, and clear documentation, supporting government programs with robust data tooling. A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of technical data engineering experience are required; U.S. Federal government consulting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data wrangling tools and languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL to derive insights through analytics
  • Participate in the full technical lifecycle from ideation to delivery: research, experimentation, and applying data methodologies to build pipelines and scalable analytic tools using leading technologies
  • Conduct regular peer code reviews to ensure quality and provide documentation and operating guidance for users
  • Execute data operations essential for analysis, including data cleansing, data integration, and data transformation
  • Develop data engineering designs and translate efforts between business and technical stakeholders
  • Monitor performance and reliability of data systems, identify and resolve issues, and proactively optimize logic and model performance through code tuning and resource allocation

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of technical data engineering experience; U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, PySpark, SQL)
  • Experience with data quality management: ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency through validation, cleansing, and error handling techniques
  • Experience with data processing / ETL knowledge: Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools for data ingestion, integration, transformation
  • Expertise with development tools / methodologies (Agile, Git, test driven development, CI/CD release management)
  • Proven ability to rapidly ingest, transform, engineer, and visualize data
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • Applicant must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance
