Job Description

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is hiring a Sr Data Analyst to support personalization across Disney+ and Hulu. This role sits within the Product & Tech Analytics team, where you will design and interpret experiments, build durable analytics foundations, and translate user behavior into actionable insights using an AI-first toolkit.

Based in New York, NY (onsite), the position provides a salary range of USD 117,500 - 172,500 per year. You will work across experimentation, data quality, and analytics delivery, partnering with data engineers and product management to ensure the data and metrics behind key decisions are accurate and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and interpretation of experiments across personalization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure experiments are designed and interpreted correctly.
  • Perform power analysis, contribute strong code to advanced experimentation libraries, and conduct post-analysis on complex questions using SQL and Python.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product management to address data consistency issues, improve the accuracy and quality of analysis-ready data, and strengthen foundational datasets.
  • Instrument new product features from the ground up, managing projects end-to-end and leading a group of partners spanning data product and data engineering.
  • Help cross-functional stakeholders understand platform performance.
  • Investigate metrics that are ahead or behind expectations, surface actionable insights, and communicate findings through data visualization tools and live presentations.
  • Apply advanced techniques such as statistical modeling, experimentation, and causal inference to user behavioral data to identify patterns and opportunities.
  • Act as a key voice in setting analytics strategy.
  • Use AI tools to work as a cutting-edge innovator for analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience, including 2+ years at a senior level.
  • Proficiency and 3+ years of applied experience creating complex queries and analysis on very large datasets in SQL and Python, leveraging Snowflake, Databricks, or a similar data warehouse.
  • 3+ years of applied experience with data exploration, visualization, and instrumentation in Looker (or an equivalent tool like Tableau).
  • 3+ years experience with A/B testing, including power analysis, metric selection, test design, use of experimentation code libraries, and interpreting complex results.
  • Familiarity with notebooking and scheduled job instrumentation in Python.
  • Strong understanding of statistics concepts including hypothesis testing, statistical power, confidence intervals, regression analysis, and Type I/II error.
  • Ability to think strategically and interpret market and consumer information contextually.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal presentation, with experience presenting to diverse audiences and managing strong personalities.
  • Experience managing end-to-end analytical projects, including documenting requirements upfront, setting deadlines, and delivering strategic meaningful impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with product analytics, especially user funnels and user behaviors.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced statistical methods such as causal inference.
  • Background in streaming media or subscription-based products.
  • Experience building agentic analytics tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Looker.
  • Proven ability to manage projects that require new datasets, collaborating with data engineering teams to improve data quality and build foundational datasets for scalable analysis.
