Job Description
Concurrent Technologies Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Science Engineer (Spec-Data Scientist) to join its internal IT team in a remote capacity. The role focuses on translating business problems into data science initiatives, building models and dashboards, and running experiments to inform strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to pinpoint high impact challenges and convert them into data science and analysis projects.
- Collect, process, and analyze complex datasets from diverse sources to uncover trends and insights that shape strategic directions.
- Develop and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address business needs such as forecasting, customer segmentation, and optimization.
- Create and maintain detailed dashboards and reports for technical and non‑technical audiences using business intelligence tools.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical analyses to reveal patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Produce clear, compelling visualizations and reports to communicate findings to varied stakeholders.
- Design and run A/B tests and other experiments to quantify the impact of initiatives.
- Partner with data engineers to build and refine data pipelines, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a Data Scientist or Senior Data Analyst role.
- Programming: strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), SQL, and PySpark.
- Statistics and ML: solid background in statistical analysis, data mining techniques, and algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, and decision trees.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the capacity to tell a data story.
- Problem-Solving: proven approach to tackling complex problems with structured, analytical thinking.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, R, SAS).
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or other text analytics.
- Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference techniques.
- Experience in research and development, government contracting, or highly regulated domains.
