Job Description
Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Ad Platforms, Decisioning Fleet/Selection squad) to build services and models that improve ad fill efficiency across Hulu, Disney+, ESPN, and other platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test ad-selection logic that meets business criteria using rule-based or ML-based approaches
- Deliver high-throughput, low-latency logic in a microservices environment
- Improve system observability by defining metrics, monitors, and alerts
- Translate product user stories into actionable tasks across frontend and backend components
- Own one or more domain areas within the team
- Use automated tools (AI) in accordance with company policy
- Participate in on-call rotations based on team escalation policy and support schedule
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience
- 5+ years of software engineering with ML experience
- Proficiency with Java
- Experience with large-scale ML/DL platforms and processing stacks
- Experience with large-scale machine learning using: scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, pytorch
- Experience building LLM-based applications using LLM-as-a-service providers such as: AWS Bedrock, Azure Cognitive Services, or Google Vertex AI
- Experience with agent and orchestration frameworks including: LangGraph, Crew AI, and strands sdk
- Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong knowledge of AI/ML implementation and mathematical/statistical concepts
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Domain knowledge in the Ad Tech industry
Location and schedule
- Seattle, WA (onsite)
- Engineers are expected to be in the office four days a week
- Role also available in Glendale, Seattle, San Francisco, or Santa Monica
Compensation: USD 141,900 - 199,400 per year.
