Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, AGI
Job Description
Amazon’s Foundational AI (FAI) team is working to push the boundaries of Generative AI using Large Language Models (LLMs). In this onsite role in Sunnyvale, you will help build and evaluate reinforcement learning environments, contribute to frontier model research, and apply Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate progress in LLMs.
This position sits within a team focused on improving the customer experience through advanced GenAI capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development of RL Gyms
- Assess the usefulness of RL Gyms for frontier model advancement
- Build techniques that advance the state of the art with LLMs
- Support foundational model development in an applied research role
- Leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in LLMs
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Compensation
Base salary range: USA, CA, Sunnyvale - USD 193,300 - 261,500 per year.
