Job Description

This Staff Data Scientist role partners with the Growth and Marketing teams to create, launch, and refine data science solutions that translate into measurable business impact. The position focuses on applying machine learning to support customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the data science team through technical mentorship, hands-on leadership on difficult problems, and ownership of the longer-term technical direction.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner alongside Marketing, Growth Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to inform, influence, support, and execute go-to-market strategy and investment decisions.
  • Design and deploy a broad set of data science solutions, including predictive models, personalization and recommendation systems, LLM-powered applications, incentive optimization frameworks, and causal inference models.
  • Use machine learning and statistical methods to quantify causal impact of Marketing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience plus an advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • Proven ability to communicate analysis results to leadership and cross-functional teams to influence strategy.
  • Experience providing technical mentorship and working with machine learning and experimentation in an industry environment.
  • Expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling to support a data-driven growth strategy.
  • Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production-grade systems, including cloud-based services and real-time and batch pipelines.
  • Strong data querying and programming skills, including SQL and Python; experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling is a plus.
  • Experience in technology, financial services, and/or a high growth environment is advantageous.

Location and Compensation

Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)

Salary: USD 250,000 - 299,000 per year
