Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Senior Data Analyst to join the TSS Data & Analytics team on a hybrid schedule based in Bossier City, Louisiana. The role centers on building dashboards, performing in-depth analytics, and delivering data-driven solutions for government clients while leading a small analytics team within an Agile framework.

Role Overview

The Senior Data Analyst contributes to dashboard development, deep-dive analytics, and data-driven solutions for government projects. The position includes supervising a small team and coordinating Agile delivery to ensure timely, quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead market research to establish decision-making best practices within the industry
  • Create, refine, and deliver reports, dashboards, and database solutions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor a small Data Analyst team supporting development initiatives
  • Utilize BI tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Excel, and related technologies
  • Provide data analytics and actionable insights
  • Define and monitor KPIs to assess performance across various areas
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and engineers to determine feature requests, priorities, dashboards, and solutions
  • Write user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, and retrospectives to improve Agile processes
  • Perform QA testing of new features to verify requirements and user experience
  • Support user acceptance testing and production deployment
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and training materials
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Ensure on-time Agile sprint releases with the development team

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL, including creating tables, views, and stored procedures
  • Experience building dashboards with Power BI or equivalent BI tools
  • Familiarity with Databricks or similar platforms
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience leading and mentoring a small Data Analyst team
  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable with Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
  • Team-oriented with adaptability to changing client needs
  • Excellent communication for presenting to business leaders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and lead a small analytics team
  • Education: BA/BS

Work Location

Candidates must reside in Louisiana and be able to work a hybrid schedule at GDIT's Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, LA.

  • Travel Required: Less than 10%

Salary and Benefits Information

The likely salary range is $85,000 to $115,000 per year. This is not a guaranteed figure; compensation is determined by experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside the stated range.
