This onsite role is based in Austin, TX, and supports decision making across Riot Platforms' data center, Bitcoin mining, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the core analytics data model with scalable fact and dimension structures in the cloud data warehouse to support enterprise reporting and analysis
- Build a trusted reporting layer by integrating and modeling data from ERP, financial, project management, and operational platforms (for example NetSuite, Procore, Epicor, Snowflake, Timestream) to establish a single source of truth
- Preserve critical business context across systems by identifying where important details are lost and designing data structures that retain analytic fidelity
- Define modeling standards and analytics best practices, including naming, structure, metric logic, testing, and maintainability across the analytics environment
- Deliver meaningful reporting and dashboards by building and maintaining dashboards and semantic models in the BI stack to illuminate financial performance, project execution, and operational KPIs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex questions into clear datasets, metrics, and reporting solutions tied to cost, efficiency, and project performance
- Support planning and forecasting workflows by maintaining and improving planning and budgeting environments to align planning, forecasting, and actual performance
- Standardize KPIs across teams by partnering with Finance, IT, Continuous Improvement, Operations, and other functions to define, document, and govern consistent metrics
- Shape the data models, metric definitions, and reporting frameworks that business leaders depend on, going beyond dashboards to scalable analytics foundations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
- 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, BI, or a related data role
- Expert-level SQL with complex joins, window functions, CTEs, set-based logic, and query optimization across large datasets; able to read, refactor, and tune SQL written by others
- Experience with at least one modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, or similar); Snowflake experience preferred
- Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and scalable analytics structures
- Hands-on experience with modern BI or semantic-layer tooling (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sigma, Grafana, or similar); strong DAX or equivalent skills preferred
- Experience integrating data from ERP, financial, project management, or other operational systems (NetSuite, Epicor, Procore, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar)
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while addressing loosely defined questions
- Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working across finance, operations, and analytics to drive cross-functional impact
