Alteryx Data Analyst

MetaPhase Consulting is seeking an Alteryx Data Analyst to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Technology Business Management (TBM) team. In this onsite role in Washington, DC, you will convert complex financial and operational datasets into repeatable, reliable processes through Alteryx workflow development, validation, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot Alteryx ETL workflows that support VA TBM financial and operational data.
• Assist with monthly financial processing and TBM model updates by validating data inputs and outputs, investigating exceptions, and coordinating data loads with the TBM model team.
• Maintain data mappings and integrate new data sources to improve automated data intake processes in collaboration with Financial Data Management stakeholders.
• Evaluate data completeness, quality, and reporting gaps, and support reconciliation of processed outputs to source financial records and reporting totals.
• Find opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability, and repeatability of recurring ETL and data-processing activities.
• Create and maintain workflow documentation, validation procedures, and processing guidance to support monthly operations and effective handoffs.
• Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate data issues and requirements into practical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data management, ETL, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, or troubleshooting Alteryx workflows.
• Experience cleansing, transforming, joining, mapping, and validating financial or operational data from multiple sources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including investigating data-quality issues and reconciling discrepancies.
• Ability to clearly document technical processes and communicate findings to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Role Context

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology uses Technology Business Management (TBM) to improve IT cost transparency, strengthen financial management, and support better technology investment decisions. As an Alteryx Data Analytics Consultant, you will support the VA TBM team by building and maintaining workflow-based data processes that enable informed decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal financial data, IT financial management, or IT cost analysis, especially within VA or another federal agency.
• Familiarity with TBM concepts, taxonomy, cost allocation, and financial reconciliation.
• Experience improving recurring ETL automation or integrating new financial and operational data sources.
• Experience with Apptio or other TBM platforms.
• Certified TBM Executive (CTBME) certification.

Work Location

Washington, DC, onsite at VA facilities or another approved work location.
