Associate Data Engineer (Python / Azure)
Job Description
Huxley is hiring an early-career Associate Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC (hybrid/onsite as determined by the client) to help deliver data solutions for financial crime analytics, focused primarily on Anti-Money Laundering (AML). In this role, you will support an agile delivery approach while designing, building, and delivering data-driven capabilities on the Quantexa platform.
You will work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to turn use cases into clear requirements, then build the data pipelines and transformations that enable analytics, reporting, and investigative workflows. The work spans data mapping, data quality rules, Quantexa configuration, and validation activities to ensure solutions meet defined standards.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and convert use cases into user stories and business rules.
- Analyze source systems and enterprise datasets to define data mappings, transformation logic, and data quality rules aligned with Quantexa standards.
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformations that support analytics, reporting, and investigative workflows.
- Configure and support end-to-end Quantexa solutions, including entity resolution, network modeling, scoring logic, validation, and UI components.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and backlog refinement to ensure delivery team requirements are well understood.
- Document data logic, mappings, and solution design to support transparency, auditability, and knowledge transfer.
- Identify data inconsistencies, inefficiencies, or reliability risks and recommend improvements to enhance solution performance.
- Contribute to unit testing and validation to ensure solutions meet business and technical standards.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Python or Java, relational data models, and cloud platforms including Azure and Databricks.
- Familiarity with tools including Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (onsite/hybrid as determined by client).
- Experience level: Early-career / junior-level data engineer.
- Domain focus: Financial Crime Analytics, primarily Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
- Platform: Quantexa (entity resolution, network analytics, risk scoring).
