Job Description

The Associate Data Scientist role supports Home Depot’s Pro Intelligence team by partnering with Pro Ops and Pro sales to build enterprise dashboards and deliver data-driven insights. The position focuses on analytics execution today, with growth into predictive modeling and deployment work alongside Data Scientists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop algorithms and models that can be applied to large datasets to generate business insights.
  • Conduct analysis to support data science projects and address business needs.
  • Complete assigned tasks with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Consult with a Data Scientist or Sr. Data Scientist to support appropriate selection, use, and interpretation of advanced analytical methodologies.
  • Learn assigned business areas to improve solutions by incorporating business-specific knowledge.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support preparation of reports, status updates, and presentations related to project progress or solution delivery.
  • Highlight potential impacts of recommendations to encourage alignment and appropriate implementation.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging methodologies.
  • Continually build skills and deepen expertise in data analytics concepts and methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to apply learnings to new problems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Analytics, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Travel, Physical, and Working Conditions

  • Travel: No travel required.
  • Physical requirements: Most time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light items.
  • Working conditions: Work is conducted in a comfortable indoor environment. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
