AWS Data Engineer - Consultant

This AWS Data Engineer - Consultant role at Deloitte is based onsite in Houston, TX. The position focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable data engineering and ETL solutions, requiring strong Python, SQL, and AWS-based data integration expertise and solid data architecture knowledge to translate business requirements into secure, high-performing data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and deployment of scalable data engineering and ETL pipelines within mission-focused engagements.
• Apply deep technical expertise in Python, SQL, and AWS-based data integration to build and maintain backend data pipelines and cloud-native processing workflows using services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and Amazon S3.
• Leverage knowledge of database design and data architecture, including schema development, data modeling, normalization, optimization, and data integrity controls, to deliver secure, maintainable, and high-performing data solutions translated from business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum two years of hands-on experience in SQL, Python, ETL architecture and development, AWS cloud engineering, and database/data management
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
• Ability to travel up to 10 percent, depending on client assignments
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
