Job Description
Deloitte is hiring a Data and AI Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows that support both structured and unstructured data. The role emphasizes reliable data modeling, data quality controls, and batch and near-real-time processing using cloud and distributed technologies.
This onsite position is based in Rosslyn, VA 22209 and supports work tied to Washington, D.C. client environments.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows for ingesting, transforming, and delivering structured and unstructured data
- Develop and optimize data models, integration patterns, and storage solutions to support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define data requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement data quality controls
- Build and support batch and near-real-time processing solutions using cloud-based and distributed data technologies
- Document technical designs, data lineage, and deployment processes, and support testing, release, and production stabilization activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- 1+ years using Python and SQL to conduct analysis and build ETL pipelines for production
- 1+ years monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and supporting data quality and system reliability
- Ability to travel 10% on average
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance, with the ability to maintain it for the duration of employment and assignment
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C. at least three days a week
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Salary
USD 84,400 - 140,600 per year.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a quantitative field
- Experience in cloud platform development and analytics (for example, AWS, Azure, Databricks)
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other equivalent dashboarding platforms
