Data Analyst

Data Analyst for Koniag Government Services supports grant administration and leadership decision-making through methodical data collection, analysis, and reporting. This onsite role in Kansas City, MO requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust and may include telework upon approval.

Responsibilities

• Gather, prepare, and analyze quantitative data using Excel, Python, R, and other analytical tools to back grant administration and program oversight.
• Perform both basic and advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights across federal grant programs.
• Carry out longitudinal data analyses, including Program Information Report analyses, and generate high quality written reports detailing data compilation and analytic results.
• Prepare management information reports on a periodic, cyclical, or ad hoc basis to support program leadership and decision making.
• Identify and resolve reporting anomalies and data quality issues to maintain data integrity for program data.
• Create data driven presentations for management meetings, conferences, and leadership briefings.
• Support congressional reporting and respond to other high priority data requests in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct trend analyses and comparative assessments across programs and regions to identify opportunities for program improvement.
• Perform qualitative analysis of grant applications, budgets, intake forms, and related grant documents.
• Review documentation to identify errors, missing information, or required follow up actions and communicate findings appropriately.
• Analyze correspondence between the federal government and grant recipients to identify themes and patterns in textual data.
• Utilize AI tools in alignment with federal policies and approved platforms.
• Synthesize qualitative findings into actionable recommendations for program staff and leadership.
• Develop compelling data stories that convey complex insights to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Create executive summaries and briefing materials for leadership, including materials for state conferences and internal decision making support.
• Design and deliver oral presentations with supporting materials to diverse audiences.
• Generate crosstabs, detailed analytical tables, and data visualizations to support reporting needs.
• Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that drive program improvements.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Required experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant post-baccalaureate professional experience directly related to data analysis.
• Required skills and competencies:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with the capacity to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to aggregate, analyze, and present data from multiple sources in a clear, meaningful way.
  • Experience with AI application tools (GitHub, R, Qualtrics, Tableau, or Power BI), ArcGIS.
  • Experience reporting analytical findings to diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Excel, Python, R, and preferably Smartsheet.
  • Experience working with data layers and data infrastructure to support analytical and reporting activities.
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis methodologies, including identifying themes and patterns in textual data.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and web-based collaboration tools.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to produce high quality written reports and deliver oral presentations.

Travel Requirements

Contractor personnel are required to travel within and outside the Region during the performance of this contract to conduct site visits, attend meetings, conferences, and training.

• Experience with AI tools and platforms, including GitHub and Qualtrics, in compliance with applicable federal policies
