Data Analyst

Data Analyst at MedZed LLC, Los Angeles, CA (remote), salary USD 100,000 - 120,000 per year, will build analytics products, create data sources and dashboards, write SQL and Python, document work, train users, and own the analytics backlog.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain curated data sources, dashboards, and reports that inform operational decisions across programs; manage each analytics product end-to end from requirements through development, documentation, training, and ongoing enhancements.
• Write SQL and shape the data model — develop, optimize, and maintain SQL against a cloud data environment; collaborate with data engineering to expose needed data and contribute to a sustainable analytical layer; clearly articulate data requirements and design for performance and reuse.
• Automate recurring reporting — create and maintain Python-based pipelines for operational, compliance, and quality deliverables; perform rigorous validation, reconcile numbers to source, QA before release, and stand behind published figures.
• Document, train, and maintain — produce clear documentation for data sources and dashboards; train users; maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancements and re-prioritize as business needs shift.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, or a degree plus equivalent real-world data analytics experience.
• 3+ years in data analytics roles with demonstrated ability to drive complex work to decision and resolution.
• Strong SQL skills — ability to specify data needs, build sustainable models, and optimize performance.
• Advanced dashboarding/BI capabilities; Tableau strongly preferred; experience with product-embedded dashboards is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python for data tasks (pandas and related libraries) and report automation.
• Effective written and verbal communication tailored to the audience; able to work independently on a lean team.
• Results-driven with a track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule.

Position Overview

MedZed is building its analytics function and seeks a Data Analyst who will be a core contributor on a lean team. This hands-on role requires owning analytics products, building data sources, constructing dashboards, writing SQL and Python, documenting work, training users, and owning the backlog of enhancement requests. You will collaborate with product, operations, clinical, finance, and program leadership to turn questions into decision-grade analytics.

Physical Requirements

• Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing desk-based computer tasks.
• Constantly operate a computer, keyboard, and other office productivity equipment.
• Occasional movement within the office or remote workspace to access files or resources.
• Occasional lifting and transporting objects up to 10 pounds (e.g., laptop, files).
• Clear vision at approximately 20 inches or less for computer work.
