Data Analyst
Job Description
The Data Analyst will support data management and statistical analyses across the Rapid RCT portfolio at NYU Langone Health.
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing data collection and analysis systems to support the research protocol
- Provide technical assistance to analysts and researchers for accessing and analyzing datasets
- Create descriptive data summaries, including visualizations and written explanations of findings for varied audiences
- Design and conduct analyses for data collected through multiple data sources
- Partner with staff to support automation of standard, recurring data acquisition, management, analysis, and reporting
- Support publications and conference materials, including drafting academic and nonacademic publications, writing conference abstracts, conducting literature reviews, and producing tables and data visualizations
- Under the Division Director’s direct supervision and the lead biostatistician’s guidance, perform basic statistical analyses and present results to the team
Requirements
- Master’s degree in health care economics, health care policy, applied statistics, data science, or biostatistics, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience
- At least 2 years of work experience and/or research experience in a relevant setting
- Strong quantitative skills and advanced programming skills in Stata, SAS, and/or R
- Ability to select and apply appropriate statistical methods for collecting and summarizing varied data
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of biostatistics principles and methods, plus epidemiology foundations (study design, statistical analysis, and causal inference)
- Use appropriate computer processing methods to generate, organize, and display statistical and research data
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
- Planning/organizational skills and personal motivation
- Qualified candidates must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Position Summary
- Works directly with Dr. Horwitz, the Director of the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science and the Center for Healthcare Innovations and Delivery Science, and the Rapid RCT Lab
- Supports data management and analyses across the Rapid RCT portfolio
- Plans, designs, and implements statistical analyses
- Works autonomously and comfortably in an academic medical center environment
Location: New York, NY (onsite)
Salary: USD 70,481 - 83,475 per year
