Data Analyst

Join Siemens Rail Automation US in the Freight Estimating organization as a Sales Support Professional, where your work turns complex information into clear, competitive estimates. This onsite role in Louisville, KY focuses on leading estimating and pricing activities, partnering across teams, and building data analytic solutions that improve estimating and business outcomes from concept to completion.

What you’ll do

• Execute daily tasks to prepare product estimates, using data analysis to support contractual obligations, optimal Gross Margin, and competitive proposals for domestic and international opportunities.
• Review specifications and coordinate with Engineering and Sales to ensure bids align with the prescribed and documented Scope of Work.
• Set up meetings with Sales and/or Management to review bids prior to submittal and to resolve issues that surface during the bid phase.
• Attend internal and external meetings to review open opportunities, confirm bid date commitments, and communicate issues as they arise.
• Interface with Estimating and Strategic Design and Development teams to develop and implement data analytic solutions, including testing and training others.
• Develop estimates using advanced tools and processes.
• Support streamlining efforts through process improvement and data analytic enhancements.
• Create requirements documentation for estimates and proposals.
• Work with Estimating and Strategic Design and Development teams on data analytic solution and estimating tool improvements.

What you bring

• BS/BA in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related subject area.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in Freight Rail Engineering, Freight Products, estimating, and proposal development, including the ability to gather requirements and translate them into accurate estimates and customer-focused solutions.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in data analysis, process optimization, operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, quality programs, and change management projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex, high-impact projects while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with collaboration experience across functions including Engineering, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Sales.
• Leadership experience through project management or people leadership, plus a customer-focused mindset, adaptability, and the ability to quickly learn and implement new processes.

Compensation & benefits

Salary: USD 123,318 per year.
