Lead Business Data Analyst

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Lead Business Data Analyst to strengthen the quality and value of its analytics function from an onsite location in Westerville, Ohio. This role focuses on leading and developing analysts, standardizing analytics processes and systems, and building reporting and data methods that support day-to-day operational decision-making.

What you’ll do

• Improve the quality and value delivered by the analytics department.
• Lead recruiting, training, and development of analysts under the program hierarchy, including Business Data Analyst and Sr. Business Data Analyst roles.
• Coordinate an analytics community across sector and site resources to encourage sharing of best practices and support business growth.
• Ensure analytical processes and procedures are consistently followed across the team.
• Support account start-up analysis and/or report implementation as needed.
• Design, develop, and implement data gathering and reporting methods and procedures for Operations.
• Continuously monitor and control existing tools to drive actionable insight.
• Work with Business Analysts and Sr. Business Analysts to implement effective models, databases, and relevant software access.
• Coordinate with the Operations Systems group to identify, address, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Investigate and recommend new technologies and information systems where appropriate.
• Apply continuous improvement principles to optimize the effectiveness and value of analytics across the team.
• Conduct mid-year and end of year performance reviews for direct reports.
• Support quarterly succession planning with attention to current performance, potential, and a roadmap to future roles with the Business Analytics Manager and Business Data Analytics Program Manager.
• Use hindsight, insight, and foresight techniques to communicate complex findings and recommendations that influence action.
• May coordinate with the ILD group on modeling-related customer solution needs, including providing data and relevant insight for customer pursuits.
• Use business and data structure knowledge to discover and/or anticipate problems where data can drive solutions.
• Develop predictive models to support decision-making.

What you bring

• Undergraduate degree in business, logistics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience (required).
• 3+ years of analytics experience (required).
• Excellent database management and data-mining skills, including understanding of SQL (required).
• Experience with programming or coding (Python, Java, VB, etc.) (required).

Compensation and schedule

• Salary range: USD 85,000 - 150,000 per year
• Location: Westerville, OH (onsite)
• Travel: Minimum 2 weeks per month
