Data Analyst - DPW-D3 Street Maint West St

The City of Indianapolis and Marion County invites applications for a full-time Data Analyst role focused on DPW Street Maint West Street operations. This onsite position in Indianapolis, IN offers an annual salary of $44,428. The role centers on data analysis, quality control, and data administration within DPW Operations’ asset and workflow management solutions. Reporting to the Program Manager: Data & Tech, the analyst collaborates with Garage Superintendents and Union Management, supports weather-event operations, and participates in special projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily data management for DPW Operations work orders.
• Analyze DPW Operations data and perform quality checks on labor costs, material costs and usage, locations of completed work, and production outputs.
• Regularly coordinate with Garage Superintendents and Union Management on daily work logs and process improvements.
• Execute data queries and deliver regular reports to assist with procurement, financial planning, workflow management, and resource alignment.
• Ensure Service Requests are closed as work orders are entered, keeping Mayor’s Action Center data accurate and up-to-date.
• Support snow events across Marion County, tracking plow movement and schedules, monitoring salt usage, and providing general support to Operations Management.
• Provide technical assistance and oversight to DPW garages during the annual benefit selection period, and collaborate with DPW finance and payroll teams to support DPW Operations.
• Assist DPW Dispatch and other Operations staff as needed.

Physical Conditions

• Primarily sedentary work at a desk for the majority of the day.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of light objects (approximately 5–10 pounds).
• Extended periods at a computer or workstation may be required.
• Requires the ability to perceive sounds and observe visual cues or signals.
• Must be able to communicate verbally.

• Work is performed in a standard office environment within DPW garages.
• Occasional after-hours and weekend duties may be required due to weather events.
• Rare travel between DPW garages may be requested.
