Data Analyst - HMIS

Nelson Connects is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with HMIS experience for a hybrid Sacramento, CA role, offering compensation at USD 32-48 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Examine large datasets to uncover trends, performance metrics, and actionable insights.
• Create, maintain, and refine dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable visualization tools.
• Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Respond to data requests with accurate, timely, and actionable information.
• Monitor data quality, verify reporting accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities to streamline processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support reporting, planning, and business initiatives.
• Present findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Document reporting workflows, data definitions, and analytical methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
• Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
