Job Description

Tesla is looking for a Data Analyst to support the People Products and People Analytics team within Recruiting and HR. In this role, you will help turn recruiting and people strategy into measurable insights by building KPI reporting models, creating dependable data models, and improving the quality of downstream reporting.

You will work closely with engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and integrated into systems used across the organization. The team custom-builds tools to create a real-time feedback loop, with data-driven insights playing a central part in how decisions are made.

What you’ll do

  • Use a product-centric approach to data and reporting, including user-friendly documentation and rigorous data tests to maintain trustworthiness and discoverability.
  • Design, build, and maintain data models that support data quality, consistency, and accessibility for analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and present system data when given a subset of potentially unrelated data points or filters to draw conclusions.
  • Communicate analysis clearly to non-technical audiences who may be unfamiliar with the domain.
  • Identify patterns that reveal gaps in upstream systems, then partner with responsible parties (such as end users and system admins) to close those gaps.
  • Ensure successful integration with downstream systems and accurate reporting to stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience supporting Recruiting or People teams, or in-depth knowledge of the full-cycle recruiting process.
  • Prior relational database experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and other common query languages.
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and automated testing.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Critical thinking with a first principles approach to problem solving.

Compensation and benefits

$92,000 - $138,000 per year salary plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay may vary based on market location and individual job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation elements may be included depending on the role offered.

Location: Palo Alto, CA (onsite). This position could also be in Austin, TX.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics (or equivalent experience).
