Job Description

Senior Data Analyst in EY's Technology Consulting, Data & Analytics practice, with a focus on Data Governance and Controls for Financial Services. The role involves shaping data strategies and delivering end-to-end data solutions for clients within this domain.

Role Overview

The position centers on designing and implementing data programs that strengthen governance, lineage, quality, and risk controls while enabling advanced analytics and information-driven decision making for financial services clients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to transform data usage by architecting data strategies and delivering end-to-end solutions that enhance the data supply chain, reengineer processes, improve risk controls, and enable information intelligence through advanced technologies.
  • Address complex challenges and drive growth across the financial services sector.
  • Define data and analytics strategies by conducting assessments, recommending remediation plans based on gap analysis, and designing and implementing future-state data and analytics solutions.
  • Develop relationships with client personnel at appropriate organizational levels.
  • Monitor progress, manage risk, and keep stakeholders informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Set and manage expectations for client service delivery.
  • Stay informed about current business and industry trends relevant to the client’s operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Deliver high-quality client services on complex, judgmental, or specialized issues.
  • Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge.
  • Learn about EY and its service lines, and identify opportunities to apply knowledge and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Analytics or a related field, with 2 years of related work experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 1 year of related work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the banking, capital markets, insurance and/or asset management industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Distributed processing (Spark, Hadoop, EMR)
    • Traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • MPP (AWS Redshift, Teradata)
    • NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J, Titan)
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks)
    • Data governance, lineage and quality tools (Collibra, Solidatus, Informatica, Alation, Snowflake, Ab Initio, One Trust, Big ID)
  • One year of experience with technologies, frameworks, or methodologies for data ingestion, storage, mining, warehousing, big data analytics, manipulation, or visualization.
  • One year of experience in product and/or project management across lifecycle stages (requirements, design, development, testing).
  • One year of experience quantifying business improvements through analytics or statistical modeling.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and regionally up to 60 percent to meet client needs.

Location
