Data Engineer
Job Description
As a Data Engineer within the MOTOR organization, you will design and implement data pipelines and infrastructure that enable analytics across manufacturing, transportation, and reverse logistics inside AWS data centers.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data infrastructure to answer business questions using software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, distributed systems advances, and operational excellence standards. Create datasets for analysts and scientists to generate actionable insights.
- Define data engineering processes that leverage various AWS services to improve accessibility, redundancy, data integrity, cost efficiency, and storage requirements.
- Develop high quality solutions that accelerate product and model development in a scalable format, while anticipating future needs.
- Collaborate with Research and Applied Scientists, Data Engineers, BI Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Product/Program Managers to understand requirements and make decisions that streamline programs and products.
- Interface with other technology and data engineering teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using AWS data technologies.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of the data infrastructure.
- Design and manage data audit, quality, and reconciliation processes in partnership with stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)
- Experience working with Git or an equivalent distributed version control system
