Job Description
As a Data Engineer in Bellevue, WA, you will design, implement, and operate distributed systems that collect and process log events, and you will build and maintain the data pipelines, warehouses, metrics, and dashboards used to support recruiting and business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and automate deployment of a distributed system for collecting and processing log events from multiple sources.
- Design data schemas and operate internal data warehouses and SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards for engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational and data issues in data pipelines.
- Develop architectural plans and help implement future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions.
- Develop code for automated data pipelines capable of processing millions of data points.
- Improve database and data warehouse performance by tuning inefficient queries.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and other internal partners to identify opportunities and problems.
- Assist with troubleshooting, researching root cause, and resolving defects when issues occur.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience.
- 2+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 2+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies.
- 2+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling.
- 2+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL.
- 2+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform).
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
