Job Description

The Data Engineer will own and evolve ELT pipelines and the Snowflake data warehouse to power internal analytics and reporting, in collaboration with analysts and system administrators. This onsite role is based in Hudson, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation, upkeep, and enhancements of ELT pipelines and the Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Design, implement, and document new data models and transformations as analytical needs evolve.
  • Ensure data reliability, consistency, and availability for downstream consumers.
  • Support and extend API integration workflows built on Boomi and Python.
  • Maintain and contribute to custom Python applications developed by the team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope and deliver new data integration projects.
  • Contribute to evaluating modern data tooling options to guide potential architectural improvements.
  • Document systems, processes, and decisions to build institutional knowledge over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related fields is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a data engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts for analytical workloads.
  • Practical experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform.
  • Familiarity with ELT/ETL pipeline concepts and tools; ability to learn our stack quickly.
  • Experience with WhereScape RED, Matillion, Airbyte, dbt, or comparable ELT automation tools.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data processing and scripting.
  • Experience with API integrations and working with REST-based data sources.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis in unfamiliar systems.
  • Experience with GitHub for version control.
