Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Data Engineer in Albuquerque, NM to design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that support mission-driven projects.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with diverse teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Establish and oversee data governance practices to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
  • Design, build, deploy, test, and maintain scalable data management systems aligned with business needs and industry standards.
  • Use a range of languages and tools to integrate systems or source new data from external sources.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to support integration and reporting needs.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements, automate manual tasks, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
  • Develop and optimize database schemas and data models to support analytics and reporting.
  • Create data tooling for analytics and data science teams to support their data products.
  • Enhance communication and technical skills by blending consulting with big data to deliver data-centric solutions in testing and evaluation.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to propose strategic improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, with 2+ years preferred in designing, building, and operating production ETL or ELT pipelines.
  • 2+ years working with relational DBMS, including data modeling and schema design.
  • 2+ years using Python for data processing and automation.
  • 1+ year of experience with cloud services.
  • Experience integrating data from RESTful APIs and external data sources.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized workloads using Docker.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration and CI/CD for data workloads.
  • Experience implementing or contributing to logging, monitoring, alerting, and data validation for production pipelines.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

We seek an experienced data engineer to help clients unlock value from their data and drive impactful outcomes.

Nice If You Have

  • 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms, preferably Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
  • Experience with PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks
  • Experience with data quality frameworks or automated testing for data pipelines
  • Knowledge of security and access controls for cloud-based data systems
  • Secret clearance

Clearance

Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation

Compensation is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, along with contract-specific requirements. The projected annual salary range is $61,900 to $141,000. This posting closes within 90 days from the posting date.

Work Model

  • Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Regular work from a Booz Allen facility with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Primarily work at a Booz Allen office or customer facility with direct collaboration.
