Data Engineer
Job Description
Intone Networks is hiring a remote Data Engineer to work on healthcare claims data, focusing on SQL driven data management, quality, and integration within scalable architectures.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute complex SQL queries for data management and validation.
- Apply subject matter expertise in data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows.
- Monitor data pipelines to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Design and implement scalable, secure data architectures to support new and existing applications.
- Configure and deploy production solutions and services as required.
- Act as a change agent to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical product owners, analysts, and software engineers.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Engage in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote data engineering best practices.
- Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Complete assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Provide after-hours or weekend support when required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
- Adhere to applicable industry and organizational compliance rules to maintain data integrity.
- Complete tasks using departmental ticketing and productivity systems within deadlines.
- Meet organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- 8+ years of data analysis experience, preferably in healthcare enrollment, medical claims, and/or pharmacy claims.
- 8+ years of hands-on SQL and/or PL/SQL experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing data models in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j) to support high-volume, low-latency workloads.
- Working knowledge of big data and cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA.
- Strong understanding of agile development practices, ideally SAFe.
- Strong analytical abilities with excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
