Job Description

DCI Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer for an onsite role in Washington, DC to integrate and transform data using Spark and support operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Data Engineer on a cross-functional team to help solve pressing problems
  • Integrate data, transform insights, and build applications used for operational decisions
  • Set up data feed transfers from source systems into the target location
  • Write transformations and derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computation
  • Monitor build progress and debug build issues
  • Design applications that address operational questions
  • Execute requests for information (RFI’s) related to the platform’s data footprint
  • Collaborate with product teams while debugging and understanding code powering the platform

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science / Engineering (or related field) preferred
  • Active Secret security clearance (Required)
  • Strong Data Engineering background
  • Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
  • Extensive coding/programming experience in Python
  • Extensive coding/programming experience in SQL, R or similar
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures as they apply to development
  • Foundry experience preferred

  • Data engineering: 5 years
  • Python coding/programming: 5 years
  • Building and managing data pipelines: 5 years
  • Data transformation: 5 years
  • Spark and/or PySpark: 3 years
  • Pandas: 3 years
  • Foundry: 1 year
