Job Description
Emergent Software is hiring a Data Engineer to strengthen its data infrastructure for reporting, analytics, and day-to-day business decision-making. In this hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines that help teams trust the datasets they use for operational and strategic insights. The position emphasizes scalable ETL/ELT development, continuous improvements to data quality, and dependable delivery across connected systems.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Integrate data from ERP, manufacturing, and other business systems into centralized data platforms.
- Build and manage scalable data workflows across extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Develop and maintain data models, testing frameworks, and technical documentation.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues related to data quality, schema, and workflows.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Automate manual processes to improve data delivery efficiency.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, security, and reliability of data across systems.
- Keep pace with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.
What you bring
- Strong experience building and supporting production data pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with effective problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Helpful experience

- Knowledge of modern data architecture and cloud analytics platforms.
