Job Description
The Data Engineering team at Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) builds and maintains data pipelines and systems that power advanced analytics and AI-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver data pipeline and data engineering services across development, sustainment, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research initiatives
- Partner with business, science, and technology teams to clarify scope, requirements, and data needs across the Disney company
- Design and implement data pipelines that support analytics, visualizations, and application use cases
- Develop, enhance, and deploy systems for advanced analytic data solutions
- Perform data aggregation and manipulation so datasets are usable by science models, visualizations, and applications
- Use GenAI tools to improve efficiency and deliver AI-based solutions
- Explore and integrate GenAI tools and techniques into data engineering workflows to enhance automation and analytical capabilities
- Build understanding of business domain processes and apply that knowledge to assigned deliverables
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in technology roles, preferably in data engineering
- Strong experience developing and maintaining ELT/ETL data pipelines
- Experience with source-to-target mapping
- Proven expertise with Python and SQL
- Familiarity with GenAI concepts and tools, including LLMs, embeddings, and prompt engineering
- Ability to understand one or more business domains to support data requirements gathering and solution design
- Experience working in multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod) and using DevOps practices for code deployment and promotion
- Strong understanding of database and data warehouse design
- Proficiency with data platforms such as PostgreSQL or Snowflake
- Experience managing and deploying code using source control such as GitLab or GitHub
- Ability to formulate solutions and communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven capability to collaborate in a multi-team environment

- Understanding of vector databases or RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures

- Knowledge of theme parks, streaming, merchandise, or related business domains
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Demonstrated proficiency with API development
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
- Experience leveraging containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience

Salary: USD 106,900 - 143,300 per year
