Data Engineer
Job Description
Cyvl builds an Infrastructure Intelligence Platform that turns raw LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data into geospatial deliverables city engineers can trust. This hybrid role is based in Somerville, MA (or remote from San Francisco, CA), and it combines production-grade data engineering with the impact of reliable geospatial processing.
Compensation: $125,000 to $195,000 per year. Experience required: 3+ years.
What you’ll build
- Design, build, and operate pipelines that move sensor data from ingest to client-ready geospatial outputs.
- Build and maintain a data platform so product, AI, and analytics teams can discover and use data quickly.
- Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring to detect issues before they reach customers.
- Partner with Data Operations and GIS teams to automate manual workflows and improve throughput.
- Improve cost and performance for large-scale processing on AWS.
How you’ll work
Cyvl captures LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data, then takes it through processing, AI inference, and QA to deliver trustworthy outputs. You will own systems end to end, from design through on-call, with a practical approach that keeps quality and reliability at the center.
